Tourism activity registers significant growth in the country, specifically from long-distance markets such as Spain, Germany, and Italy. This is in addition to the leadership maintained by tourist-issuing countries such as the United States and Canada.
Statistics from the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur), on its Situr platform, show that in November of this year, 2024, the arrivals of foreigners and Dominicans residing abroad were steadily increasing.
It was recorded that 13,488 Germans arrived in the DR by air, 9,518 from Poland, and 2,223 Swiss, among others. In addition, 176,006 Americans, 104,414 Dominicans and 93,454 Canadians.
Passengers arrived in the country on 4,951 regular flights and 331 charter flights, according to Listin Diario.
The recovery and growth of long-distance destinations such as the European one have much to do with the sustainable management of Mitur, which presents the environment and safety of the DR for the visitor.
